Tomi Satomaa is one of the most prominent and most versatile organists and church musicians of his generation in Finland. Currently Satomaa is working as an organist, cantor, choir director, organ pedagogue and chairman of the Organum Society. Concerts have taken Satomaa to the most important Finnish organ festivals and as an organist he has also appeared in several Central European countries and in Russia. Tomi Satomaa’s debut album Ramus virens olivarum (ALBA) was released in the autumn of 2016. In addition, he has recorded his music on YLE (Finnish Broadcasting Company). Satomaa’s repertoire has recently consisted of baroque music and music from the 20th and 21st centuries. He has, among other things, been the first to perform with music by Olli Kortekangas and Kari Tikka.

As an organ pedagogue, Satomaa is one of the first to develop organ pedagogy techniques for children and the youth. He has given lectures on the subject at the Sibelius Academy on several occasions and has produced material that can be used when teaching organ pedagogy.

Satomaa is the founder and leader of Parainen Vocalensemble since the year 2011. The choir has risen to a high standard chamber choir in a short time. It has performed music from the 16th century to the present. Major parts of the choir’s repertoire consist of medium-sized works within church music, such as composers as J.S. Bach, D. Buxtehude, H. Schütz and A. Pärt.

Tomi Satomaa has gotten his experience for his work from Espoo Music Institute, the Candomino Choir and the Sibelius Academy. His most important teachers during his career have been his own father, Tauno Satomaa and Kari Jussila. www.tomisatomaa.fi

Tomi Satomaa on yksi ikäpolvensa merkittävistä ja monipuolisista urkureista ja kirkkomuusikoista Suomessa. Hän työskentelee tällä hetkellä aktiivisesti konsertoivana urkurina, kanttorina, kuoronjohtajana, urkupedagogina sekä Organum-seuran puheenjohtajana. Konsertit ovat vieneet Tomi Satomaata keskeisille suomalaisille urkufestivaaleille ja urkusolistina hän on esiintynyt myös useissa Keski-Euroopan maissa ja Venäjällä. Tomi Satomaan debyyttilevy Ramus virens olivarum (ALBA) ilmestyi syksyllä 2016. Lisäksi hän on tallentanut soittoaan YLEn kantanauhoituksin. Pääosin Satomaan ohjelmisto on viime aikoina koostunut barokin ajan musiikista sekä 1900- ja 2000 –luvun musiikista. Hän on muun muassa kantaesittänyt Olli Kortekankaan ja Kari Tikan musiikkia.

Urkupedagogina Tomi Satomaa on ensimmäisten joukossa kehittänyt varhaisiän urkupedagogiikkaa Suomessa. Lisäksi hän on luennoinut urkupedagogiikasta useissa yhteyksissä, muun muassa Sibelius-Akatemiassa sekä valmistanut urkupedagogiikkaan liittyvää ohjelmistoa ja materiaalia.

Perustamaansa Paraisten Vokaaliyhtyettä Tomi Satomaa on johtanut vuodesta 2011. Kuoro on noussut lyhyessä ajassa korkeatasoiseksi kamarikuoroksi. Se on esittänyt musiikkia 1500-luvulta nykypäivään. Pääosin kuoron ohjelmistossa on ollut keskisuuria kirkkomusiikkiteoksia, säveltäjinä esimerkiksi J.S.Bach, D. Buxtehude, H. Schütz ja A. Pärt.

Valmiudet työllensä Tomi Satomaa on saanut Espoon musiikkiopistosta, Candomino-kuorosta ja Sibelius-Akatemiasta. Tärkeimpinä opettajinaan uran varrella hänellä on ollut isänsä Tauno Satomaa sekä Kari Jussila. www.tomisatomaa.fi
